AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Aims :-

Our aim at Buckreddan Care Centre is to provide a good quality of nursing care for each individual resident.

Andy and Theresa Fitzsimmons and staff will aim to : -

  • Seek the maximum development of each resident within their own physical, intellectual and emotional potential.
  • Ensure that the wishes and needs of all residents are respected and met wherever possible, with particular attention being paid to ethnic, religious and cultural factors.

Our care objectives at Buckreddan Care Centre are as follows :-

  • All new residents at Buckreddan Care Centre will be orientated to surroundings, staff and fellow residents within 1 week of admission. We aim to achieve this by a gradual introduction to fellow residents during organised activities within Buckreddan Care Centre, and all members of staff introducing themselves to new residents as they come on duty and escorting residents to public areas within the home.
  • An individual, detailed plan of care will be compiled by a qualified nurse/key worker in consultation with resident, family/advocate within 48hrs of admission.
  • All individual care plans will be reviewed monthly and updated as changes in health care requirements demand.
  • All residents will be cared for by staff instructed and advised in their care needs, who are encouraged to undertake courses relevant to their role.
  • All residents will receive the services of G.P., optician, dentist, chiropodist or any other member of the health care team which is required.
  • All residents and or family / advocate will be involved in the consultation process of care planning and given the opportunity to question or refuse treatment.
